Come on in!

Welcome to Joey’s House!

Joey’s House is about being creative, finding inspiration, making huge messes and having a lot of fun all at the same time.  We knit, dye, paint, sculpt, bead, crochet, draw, photograph, play with paper and build furniture and motorcycles.  Not all at once, of course.  Who is we?  Why, let me introduce you to the inhabitants of Joey’s House!

I am Heather, wife, mom, artist and in my newest incarnation blog author!  Since it’s my blog you’re going to be hearing mostly about my stuff.  My main interest (right now) is fibre arts – I love to knit and crochet, and dye yarn.  I also design my own soft toys.  I have half of a formal arts education (which is a nice way to day I dropped out and did something else), so I can also paint, draw and take a not bad photograph.

Next up: Joey!  There had to be one right?  My husband of 11 years, he somehow puts up with me and all of the paraphernalia that goes with being married to a creative type.  He has come to accept that arts and crafts supplies are a necessity in this house, much the same as food and clothing.  Mostly because “arts and crafts supplies” are very loosley defined around here and often include motorcycle parts.  He is currently rebuilding a 1975 Honda CB 750 in our garage.  It won’t be the main focus of this blog, but I’m sure you’ll hear about it!

Final human in this crazy place if our daughter, who is affectionatley reffered to as Punky Pie ( and all variations thereof) and Toad.  At 5 she is into any creative endeavour we are willing to let her try, and also claims the title Head Mess Maker.  She is frequently my inspration and I love watching her come up with her own way of doing things.

And since every blog needs some cute, we have the pets!  Galahad – the eldest cat, she is very smart, very dignified, and very pretty.  Just ask her, she’ll tell you.  Loki is the younger cat.  Also very beautiful, but not as gifted in the brains department, she spends her days lolling about, looking cute so you will pet or feed her.  It totally works, so maybe she is smarter than the rest of us.  And for all you dog lovers there is Juno!  Cute, energetic, she is a 16 month old husky/sheppard mix who loves to hide under the blankets.  Because huskies really aren’t made to withstand the cold y’know.  Wanna see her?

Juno

Told you she was cute!

Well, thanks for stopping by!  I’m just learning all of this blogging stuff, so I hope you cn be patient over then next little bit while I figure it out.  See you soon!
