Happy March Break to all those currently free from school! Punky started hers off with a bang at Guide camp, where she got dirty, didn’t sleep, giggled a lot, and came home with a mountain of laundry. Precisely how any camp should go! If you come home clean you did it wrong.
March Break is all about a break from routine, a chance for the kids (and their teachers!) to recharge, goof around, have some fun. I have some projects on the go – including new socks for you! Coming soon. But I thought I would embrace the spirit of the Break and start something new, a new monster! Haven’t had one of those for a while, yes? My goal is to have him knit and the pattern written and ready to go by the end of this week. So you’ll have two things to look forward to – you can send you kids back to school and sit down with a nice vodka and a new monster! I’m also going to attempt to post at least a little something here every day, so you can keep up with what’s going on with our new friend.
So, first I drew up a little sketch, to help get him out of my head. I posted this on Twitter yesterday, maybe you saw it? Anyways, here we go again:
I also went rummaging in the sock scrap bag, always fun, so many colours! After pulling out a bunch that looked likely I made this:
Today will be for knitting arms and legs. Luckily for me it is nice enough out that Punky is outside biking/playing/something. Here’s hoping the rain they’re calling for holds off for a while yet!
