There is a lot of colour around here, I know. I love it, I must have it/make it/use it. Especially if it is bright, crazy or there are a zillion shades all smashed together. The right colour can really make the project. Sometimes the right colour is not what one would normally gravitate to. As an example I offer the colours of my latest design. They are not colours you might normally associate with Joey’s House.
Green – gravitating towards slime and mlatch rather that say lime, or grass.
Brown – of the well known “baby poop” variety.
And grey. Colour of smog, cement and despair.
I am excited about these colours even if they are not exciting colours on their own. There are no bad colours, only bad applications of colour.
A hint about the new pattern? Well, I took this pic quite a while ago:
I needed a break from translating my hand scribbled mess of notes that all of my designs start out with, into a hand written version I could actually sit at the computer and work from. This is not a step that is usually necessary in my design process, but this time… well. the notes were bad. Really bad. Transcription took all of that caffeine and all morning. So the hint: this pattern is LONG.
