Weird. That’s the only word for it. Last week it was snowing, now it’s over 20. It was pretty warm this morning, now the wind is up and it’s getting cooler. One day you need snow boots, the next sandals. A couple of days ago I was knititng mittens, now I’m knitting this.
Ok, not much of a picture yet. It’s a summer weight t-shirt thing for Punky. She’s outgrowing the last one and says she still likes it. I bought this yarn last year, thinking to make her something summery with it then. But when it arrived I wasn’t as thrilled with the colours as I had been on my computer screen, and I was in the midst of knitting The Skirt that Never Ends, so it just got stuffed in the stash. Such are the perils of on line shopping. I am determined to use it though, so figured I should pick a pattern that I know I like to knit. And I must admit it’s looking not too bad knit up and it’s very lovely and drapey. Maybe not so perilous after all.
Last week I felt I needed a break from my knitting. It happens from time to time, everything you’re working on seems blah, the excitement of casting on is long gone. And even the thought of casting on something new wasn’t doing it for me. A small hiatus then, something new to look at something different to think about. Something like this.
A little bit of fun for Punky, a row of Super Girls in bright colours. Or maybe it’s just fun for me. Heh. Either way, the pattern is available from Wee Wonderfuls if you like. I changed it up a bit – I added another figure and made them all girls and did up my own colours – I had a great time with the coloured pencils colouring in the chart. I hate to work off of a black and white chart, all those fiddly little symbols, bleh! It’s going quite quickly too, and you know I love the instant gratification.
Punky has been making stuff too – she’s all about bunnies right now. Easter is coming you know.
