We went today and picked out our Christmas tree. A very familiar tradition for us – we go to the same place every year. We always eat too many free Timbits. We look at huge trees that would not fit in our house. We debate many trees before likely choosing the second one we looked at. We go to the little shop and peruse all of the ornaments. Of course, we have to buy some.
Our tree doesn’t have a theme. I don’t really understand theme trees. We have too many ornaments that we love to pick just one colour or one style. There are ornaments that our parents gave us when we first got married and didn’t have any. There are all the ones we have purchased between then and now. All the ones I have made. That Punky has made. How could we not put up the first ornament she ever picked out? The one I made the year she was born? That Joey gave me before we were married? They are all important. So every year we put up all of them, plus the new ones. I suppose you could say the them of our tree is our family.
