As promised, the pattern for the cabled socks is ready. Currently only on Ravelry, for the low low price of only $3.00. Hey, I know things are tight, but you still want to knit right?

Requires about the same amount of fingering weight yarn you would usually use for socks – about 400 yds.
Pattern is written top down for 5 double pointed needles. Knit as written it will fit ladies size 7-8.5, and includes instructions for sizing up or down to any size you should care to make. This is not a teaching pattern – it assumes you know basic sock construction, but in the land of sock knitting I would say it is pretty easy. It would be a great first cable project too!
I made these for my mom, but I really think the pattern would be ok for guys too. It’s just a tiny cable, which kind of looks like a bike chain (hence the name) and trust me I know how boys are about textures, or anything “fancy”. Joey said he’d wear these if they were knit in a plain colour, and since he is the king of “I don’t like that, it’s BUMPY” I consifer him a good gauge. I think they’d look really sharp in a nice semi-solid gray or brown. Or orange, for Joey, but maybe that’s just him. And if you’re knitting for a girl? I really think they would look smashing in pink.
